Fire Damage

Fire Damage

Rev. and Mrs. James McNeil Chesapeake, VA

After losing their home and all of their possessions in an early morning fire, the 89 year old Reverend James McNeil and his wife never lost their smile, happy that they both were safe and sound. Although Rev. McNeil had to find and carry his wheelchair-bound wife out of their smoke filled home, they both strongly felt that “We were protected in the fire, and now that we’ve been referred to First Atlantic by three different sources, we feel we were led to First Atlantic. So we’re putting you in His hands. You’ll be answering to Him – so make Him happy, and you’ll make us happy!” Obviously answering to our biggest client to date, First Atlantic tore down the fire damaged home, designed and rebuilt a fully handicap accessible home based on the couple’s needs ahead of schedule and on budget. The McNeil’s positive attitude was contagious with everyone who met them and remain one of the company’s most cherished clients. When asked “How did First Atlantic do?”, Reverend McNeil replied with a hug and the succinct words “Wonderful everything!”

Wind Damage

After a hurricane ripped off 6 stories of the exterior wall of a hotel on the Virginia Beach oceanfront, not only exposing the interior to the elements, but shutting down a multimillion dollar timeshare sales center, First Atlantic Restoration was called in to restore operations as soon as possible.  With a well-trained, well-equipped, and quick thinking staff, First Atlantic reframed the metal stud walls, dried the interior and shrink wrapped the exterior to a water tight condition and operations resumed within 72 hours.

Water Damage

The conditions after the November 2009 Nor' Easter left 100 ground floor apartments an uninhabitable health risk, due to the flood waters which engulfed the property in four feet of "black" water. First Atlantic Restoration was called upon to immediately perform water extraction, demolition of all porous building materials, structural drying and dehumidification, as well as microbial contaminant remediation services in an efficient and timely manner, so the displaced families could be returned to their homes. Over eighty First Atlantic Restoration employees worked around the clock, including the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, until the project was finished. After replacing the interior drywall, trim, doors, cabinets, and flooring, as well as the HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, all 100 units were completed in 50 days.
